Legend footballer and modern day pundit Jamie Carragher has slammed Arsenal following their game against Manchester City last night. It was ended in 1-1 as Arsenal scored the late equaliser. City were nearly there, but Martinelli helped Arsenal take points at Emirates. However, Jamie Carragher feels Arsenal are more into defence rather than attack.
Arsenal rescued a late point at the Emirates on Sunday night as Gabriel Martinelli’s strike earned them a 1-1 draw against Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side looked set to walk away with all three points until the Brazilian winger’s equaliser shifted the momentum.
However, former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was unimpressed with Arsenal’s overall approach, claiming Mikel Arteta’s side are becoming too reliant on their defensive solidity rather than attacking flair.
“If Arsenal win the league, it’ll be down to their defence,” Carragher said after the game. While he praised the Gunners’ backline for showing resilience against one of the best attacking teams in Europe, he insisted that their frontline must show greater sharpness if they want to dominate the Premier League title race.
