After becoming new manager of Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso keeps running in the headlines. He has made a statement regarding his player Rodrygo who was rumoured to be unhappy with his situation at the club and reportedly wanted to join some new club. However, the manager has denied this rumour and he feels the player is ready to give his everything for the club next season.

After stepping into the managerial hot seat at Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso has continued to make headlines—this time with a clear message regarding winger Rodrygo Goes. Amid swirling rumours suggesting the Brazilian was unhappy at the club and eyeing a move elsewhere, Alonso has firmly denied any such claims.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup clash against Al Hilal, Alonso expressed full confidence in Rodrygo’s commitment and mentality.

“I know what happened with Rodrygo last season. He took some time to reset. I see him eager to contribute on the field, hungry and ready to enjoy himself. We’ve talked about it and shared it,” said the Real Madrid boss.

Rodrygo endured an inconsistent campaign last season, which sparked speculation about his future at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, under Alonso’s guidance, it appears the 23-year-old is prepared to turn a new page and fight for his place in the starting lineup.
