Real Madrid youngster Dean Huijsen has come out in strong defense of Vinícius Jr, insisting that the Brazilian winger faces unfair and excessive criticism from the media and fans.

Speaking to reporters after Real Madrid’s recent fixture, Huijsen praised Vinícius not only for his immense talent but also for his character off the pitch. “He is an incredible guy, a very good boy,” Huijsen said. “He’s such a big player that when he does the slightest thing, you all criticize him. I think you criticize Vini too much, many times excessively and unnecessarily.”

Vinícius Jr has often been in the spotlight, not just for his performances but also for his passionate reactions and confrontations on the pitch. However, Huijsen believes much of this scrutiny is unfairly magnified because of the constant attention the forward receives.

“All the cameras are always on him,” the young defender explained. “If you focus on someone with a camera for the 90 minutes of a match, you’re bound to see something. If you focused on me, you’d see it too, or on Militão, or Asencio. You’d just see something from everyone.”
