After ploughing past Thierry Henry in the all-time goalscorers list of the English Premier League, the Englishman sings all praise for the Italian coach, Antonio Conte, who has provided great assistance to the skills and performance of the 28-year-old.

“Antonio has given me more strings to my bow”, said Kane to the Evening Standard. To add to his achievements, he has also broken the highest number of goal combinations in the League along with Heung-Min Son from the greats, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, who had previously held the record.

The ongoing challenge for the Spurs has not been about their lack of ambition but their consistency. Even with the recent clash with Everton and past loss with the Wolves and Southampton, relatively low table clubs, have been a boom-bust cycle altogether for Spurs this season. Kane urged his teammates to ‘avoid excuses’ and ‘take up responsibility for challenging the top four positions at the table, which seems to be the current mission of the club.

According to reports from the Evening Standard, he mentioned the squad’s interest to play in the Champions League, “we haven’t played in it now for a couple of years but it’s where we think the club should be”. The recent appointment of Conte has been a bittersweet experience for both the club and himself as recent losses made the Italian admit to the media that maybe he wasn’t the right appointment for the job. However, the squad has responded to the cards set by the Italian coach and have risen to the demands of the situation. They have since come forward to play their games with the ultimate mindset of winning. “But for sure, I’m in a good place and we want to play Champions League”, concluded Kane.
