Inter Milan has got out of the FIFA Club World Cup after getting defeated by Fluminense FC in the last night’s fixture. This was not a good game for Inter and the president Marotta also gave a bad news for the fans as Hakan Çalhanoglu is expected to leave the side this summer transfer window. Çalhanoglu has been phenomenonal since joining the side but now he’s currently searching new clubs.
Inter Milan’s journey in the FIFA Club World Cup came to a disappointing end last night as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brazilian side Fluminense FC in the Round of 16. The Nerazzurri looked out of sorts throughout the match, struggling to create clear-cut chances and ultimately failing to live up to expectations.
The night went from bad to worse for Inter fans, as club president Giuseppe Marotta confirmed after the match that midfield star Hakan Çalhanoglu could leave the club this summer.
Çalhanoglu, who has been instrumental in Inter’s success since joining from AC Milan, is reportedly exploring new opportunities. “We will speak with Hakan, we can’t give him all the responsibilities,” Marotta said. “But if there will be conditions to part ways this summer, we will do it with zero problems.”
The Turkish midfielder’s potential departure will be a major blow for Inter, who now face a crucial summer in reshaping their squad after an early exit from the global stage.
