Arsenal is reportedly considering the possibility of selling their highly-rated goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, at the end of this season. The decision comes on the back of Mikel Arteta’s choice to make David Raya as the club’s new first-choice goalkeeper.
Arsenal’s acquisition of Ramsdale in the summer of 2021 for a significant fee was a bit shocking, but the English shot-stopper quickly won over fans and critics with his impressive performances between the posts. His agility, shot-stopping abilities, and excellent distribution skills played a role in Arsenal’s defense.
However, Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, appears to have different plans for the club’s goalkeeping department. Arteta’s preference for David Raya, who joined the Gunners from Brentford in the recent transfer window, signals a changing in the team’s goalkeeping department.
Raya has established himself as a reliable and consistent presence in the Championship and showed promise during his time at Brentford thus it seems Ramsdale may be playing his last season with the Gunners.
