Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that young Brazilian winger Savinho is on the verge of signing a new contract with the club, ending speculation about his future.
Guardiola, speaking about the 20-year-old talent, expressed the club’s firm stance on retaining him despite interest from elsewhere. “We were so clear we wanted to keep him… Maybe the offer was not good enough for the club,” Guardiola said, suggesting that rival bids did not meet City’s valuation.
Savinho, who impressed on loan last season, has been widely praised for his versatility and explosive pace. Guardiola highlighted these qualities, underlining why City are keen to secure his long-term future at the Etihad. “But at his age, last season he played a lot, can play on both sides, has pace that is unbelievable. He’s very good!” the Spaniard added.
