Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has expressed his deep admiration for manager Mikel Arteta and his affection for the club, recalling a crucial moment in his journey under the Spaniard’s guidance.

Speaking to The Players’ Tribune, Martinelli revealed that during a period when he struggled for regular game time last season, Arteta’s support and reassurance played a vital role in keeping his morale high.

“Arteta has always been great with me,” Martinelli said. “When I wasn’t playing as much last season, I went to his office, and he reassured me that I would get my chance.”

The Brazilian forward added that Arteta’s belief in him motivated him to stay patient and focused until his opportunity arrived. “I’m so happy that I took my chance when I got it. I really love this club,” he continued.

Since joining Arsenal in 2019 from Ituano, Martinelli has become one of the Premier League’s most exciting young talents. His explosive pace, relentless energy, and goal-scoring instincts have made him a key figure in Arteta’s project at the Emirates Stadium.
