Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has once again shut down rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League, insisting that he remains fully committed to the Catalan club. Speaking to ESPN, the Dutch international admitted that there have been offers from English clubs but made it clear that his future lies at Barça.

“Premier League? I don’t think so,” De Jong said. “There have been offers, but I’m happy at Barça.”

The 27-year-old has been one of Barcelona’s most consistent performers since joining from Ajax in 2019, often serving as the heartbeat of the team’s midfield. Despite persistent speculation about interest from Premier League giants like Manchester United and Manchester City, De Jong has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at Camp Nou.

He also offered his perspective on the current state of European football, acknowledging the growing strength of the English top flight. “The Premier League is the best league right now, like La Liga was about ten years ago,” De Jong noted. “But that doesn’t mean you have to play there to show you’re a great player.”

His comments highlight the midfielder’s loyalty to Barcelona amid the club’s financial struggles and fluctuating form.
