Manchester City have started their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign in style as they won 2-0 against Wydad FC. The game was one sided and it was City who flourished well on the pitch. Phil Foden and Doku were the scorers for City and they couldn’t have a good start to this new-styled competition.
Manchester City kicked off their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 journey in emphatic fashion, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wydad FC. The European champions wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Phil Foden opening the scoring in just the 2nd minute of the match.
City controlled possession and tempo throughout the game, rarely allowing Wydad any room to breathe. Their slick passing and high pressing paid off once again as Jeremy Doku doubled the lead in the 42nd minute with a composed finish.
It was a one-sided affair from start to finish, with Pep Guardiola’s men showing why they’re one of the favourites in this newly expanded global competition. Wydad struggled to create any meaningful chances and spent most of the match on the back foot.
