Barcelona midfielder Fermín López has addressed speculation surrounding his future, making it clear that his heart remains firmly at Camp Nou despite reports of a €40 million approach from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has been one of Barça’s standout performers in recent months, attracting attention from several top European clubs. Chelsea were reportedly preparing to test Barcelona’s resolve with a significant offer, but Fermín has poured cold water on any exit talk, insisting that his dream has always been to succeed with the Catalan giants.
“Well, in the end my priority has always been to be at Barcelona. I arrived when I was 12 years old, it was my dream to be here, to be able to reach the first team,” Fermín told Mundo Deportivo.
While he acknowledged the prestige of interest from abroad, the young midfielder reiterated that his focus is solely on Barcelona. “It is always a compliment that there is interest from other clubs, but the truth is that I always had the idea of staying at Barça and being able to succeed here,” he added.
