Everton is preparing a new contract offer for Jarrad Branthwaite to fend off interest from Manchester United. The Premier League club has rejected two bids from United, with the latest proposal valued at £40 million plus add-ons. Everton is holding out for £70 million and is determined to keep the 22-year-old centre-back unless a significantly higher bid comes in.

Manchester United, which had already agreed on personal terms with Branthwaite and offered him a salary of £160,000 per week compared to his current £40,000, is reluctant to meet Everton’s asking price. The Red Devils have shifted their focus to Leny Yoro, an 18-year-old French defender, after their attempts to sign Branthwaite were unsuccessful. United secured Yoro from Lille for up to £58.9 million.

Everton’s new contract proposal aims to increase Branthwaite’s salary, a move designed to both reward him and deter other potential suitors. The club’s firm stance reflects their commitment to retaining the young talent unless an exceptionally high offer is made.
