Manchester City have won their 4th game of the season in the Premier League last night when they were against Brentford away. The City blues were dominant but it wasn’t a convincing victory for the Pep Guardiola’s side. 1-0 victory was however enough for them to climb up the table. They are now at 5th position with 13 points in 7 games. Erling Haaland scored his 18th goal of the season in all competitions in just 11 played so far. The only goal scored in this game came at the 9th minute.
While Pep Guardiola’s men dominated possession for large parts of the game, the performance lacked the usual cutting edge and flair that fans have come to expect. The decisive moment arrived as early as the 9th minute when Erling Haaland struck to give City the lead. The Norwegian striker continued his incredible scoring run, netting his 18th goal of the campaign across all competitions in just 11 appearances.
Despite their control, City failed to extend the margin and had to settle for a slim but crucial win. The result lifts them up to 5th in the Premier League table, with 13 points from 7 matches.
Although the victory was far from convincing, Guardiola will be pleased to see his side grind out points as they continue their push to climb higher up the standings.
