Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag praised the team’s captain Harry Maguire who played for the England national football team in the FIFA World Cup 2022. However, the defender won’t be seen playing in the tournament as England is knocked out by the defending champions France in the quarter-finals.
France defeated England by 2-1 to secure their place in the Semifinals of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag felt that the defender played well and appreciates his performance at the tournament.
“For England, he has good games almost all the time. We want him to bring that back to Manchester with him so he can bring it on the pitch for United. I think he had a really good World Cup. He was consistent,” said Erik ten Hag on Manchester United’s club captain Harry Maguire as reported by Sky Sports.
The manager wants Maguire to play the way he plays for his country (England national football team). Maguire is one of the important players for England and their manager Gareth Southgate. That’s why Ten Hag wants him to be at the same level while playing for the club.
