The Belgian shot-stopper, who had been eagerly awaiting his return to the pitch after an extended period on the sidelines, now faces an additional two months of recovery time, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the current season. This latest setback comes as a blow not only to Courtois but also to Real Madrid who are about to face Manchester City in the semifinals of the UCL.

Courtois’s misfortune is by the fact that he had yet to make a single appearance for the club this season due to his long rehabilitation from the ACL injury.
