Premier League rivals Chelsea have turned down Manchester United’s third bid for their star midfielder Mason Mount. The proposed deal from Manchester United amounted to 50 million euros, with an additional 5 million euros in add-ons. However, Chelsea, determined to retain their influential playmaker, responded with a counter offer of 58 million euros, along with 7 million euros in potential add-ons. This rejection and counter offer have further intensified the transfer saga surrounding the talented Englishman.
Mason Mount has been an integral part of Chelsea’s success over the past few seasons, showcasing his exceptional skills and versatility in midfield. The Englishman established himself as a key figure under manager Thomas Tuchel, contributing significantly to the club’s Champions League triumph in the 2020-2021 season.
As such, it comes as no surprise that Chelsea is unwilling to part ways with their player. The London club has made their intentions clear by countering Manchester United’s previous offers and putting forward an increased valuation of the player. Manchester United’s persistent interest in Mason Mount demonstrates their desire to bolster their midfield options for the upcoming season.
