English Premier League side is looking to build a strong squad and thus they are constantly signing players this month to keep up the pace with the league. Chelsea were in poor form before the FIFA World Cup since Graham Potter came as their new manager.
Chelsea have already completed two signings in this month who will join the squad once the January transfer window starts. Chelsea are on the verge of signing a defender named Benoit Badiashile from the Ligue 1 club Monaco. Before completing the deal, they have shifted their focus towards the World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentine is attracting so many clubs especially after seeing his World Cup 2022 performance. The player however has a release clause of €120 million with his club named Benfica. Only Chelsea is ready to pay that amount to Benfica for the midfielder. Chelsea are reportedly in direct talks with the club (Benfica) for Enzo Fernandez as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official Twitter handle.
“Chelsea are now in direct talks with Benfica for Enzo Fernández. Chelsea want to offer huge fee instead of paying release clause in one solution,” tweeted Fabrizio Romano on Friday.
