Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimarães has lavished praise on teammate Casemiro, calling the veteran star a “complete player” whose illustrious career continues to inspire the next generation of Seleção talents. Speaking in an interview shared by ge.globo, Guimarães reflected on Casemiro’s impact both on and off the pitch, especially for those stepping into Brazil’s competitive midfield.

Guimarães recalled his early days with the national team in 2020, revealing that Casemiro was the first name that came to mind when he was asked about his inspirations. “In one of my first interviews with the national team, in 2020, when I arrived they asked if I was inspired by anyone in midfield, and I said his name,” the Newcastle United star said.

The Lyon academy product went on to highlight Casemiro’s remarkable achievements at Real Madrid, where the midfielder won five UEFA Champions League titles and established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders of his era. “He’s also an idol for everything he’s done, especially at Real Madrid, the five Champions League titles,” Guimarães added.
