With Harry Maguire ending the season drought of the Red Devils with a powerful header against Leeds United, he has proved to the critics that he is more than able to carry the team with the armband amidst the recent media pressure regarding the dressing room and captaincy rumours.

Harry went on to tweet a photo with his best mate’s picture cropped in- which led to a social media uproar. “For everyone asking, it’s my good mate, a big Leeds fan. He was at the ground but not in the pic,” said Maguire on Twitter following the exciting win at Elland Road.

Bruno Fernandes responded to the reporters’ post-match questions ahead of the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid which was streamed live in Man United official app and website regarding the issue of unity with the team, by explaining the celebration that took place right after the header. “I saw the goal of Harry Maguire and I’m seeing Paul Pogba running behind him, sliding on his knees, and before him, I was slapping his head saying, Finally you score with that big head.”

Fernandes exclaimed how the rumours surrounding the players and the club are false and that they are united as ever.

United’s win has helped them move to within four points of Chelsea who are in the third position in the League table and Ralf Rangnick has been warned that his side of players will not receive a ‘red carpet’ on arrival as they would experience very hostile playing conditions and should be ready to face Atletico for their first leg in Wanda Metropolitano.
