Bournemouth are closing in on a major defensive reinforcement, with negotiations progressing swiftly to bring Axel Disasi from Chelsea to the Vitality Stadium. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Cherries are in advanced talks with the London club and are confident of finalizing the deal in the coming days.
The French international, who joined Chelsea from AS Monaco in the summer of 2023, has been a regular feature in the Blues’ backline. However, competition for places at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s ongoing squad reshuffle have opened the door for his potential departure. Bournemouth, meanwhile, view Disasi as the ideal replacement for Illia Zabarnyi, who recently moved away, leaving a gap in Andoni Iraola’s defensive setup.
Club-to-club contact has already been made, with discussions described as positive. Bournemouth are keen to secure the 26-year-old centre-back before the transfer window closes and are pushing to finalize personal terms and the structure of the deal.
Disasi’s arrival would mark a significant statement from Bournemouth, who continue to establish themselves as a competitive Premier League side. Known for his physical presence, aerial strength, and leadership qualities, the Frenchman could prove pivotal in strengthening the Cherries’ defensive resilience for the remainder of the season.
