Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have signed a new goalkeeper named Yann Sommer from Borussia Monchengladbach in this January transfer window. The Bundesliga defending champions wanted a goalkeeper to replace their World Cup winner Manuel Neuer who could be retiring in one or two seasons.

Manuel Neuer is a world-class goalkeeper and have won the golden gloves award so many times but his age 36-years is the main concern for Bayern and thus they signed a new goalkeeper from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Yann Sommer is one of the best goalkeepers playing in Europe right now. Yann Sommer’s performance in Euro 2020 was talked about a lot and there were many clubs behind him after that. It was earlier rumoured PSG are searching for a new keeper and have an eye on Yann Sommer.

Sommer will sign his contract on Thursday, 19th January as reported by Fabrizio Romano on the same day via his official Twitter account.

“Yann Sommer will sign his contract as new FC Bayern player on Thursday — medical tests will be completed in the morning,” tweeted Fabrizio Romano.
