Barcelona have announced that Ronald Araujo has successfully undergone hamstring surgery in Finland. The procedure was performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen after Araujo injured his right hamstring while playing for Uruguay in the Copa America.
The club confirmed the surgery was a success and stated that Araujo’s return to competitive play will depend on his recovery. Although no specific return date has been set, reports suggest he will be out for approximately four months.
This injury comes as a significant setback for Barcelona’s new manager, Hansi Flick, as the team prepares for the upcoming La Liga season. With Araujo sidelined, Flick will need to rely on other defenders such as Jules Kounde, Inigo Martinez, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, and Mikayil Faye.
