FC Barcelona have officially announced a new collaboration with global music star Ed Sheeran, courtesy of their main sponsor Spotify. The special partnership will see iconic “Play” featured on the front of Barça’s shirt during the much-anticipated El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26.
This latest campaign continues Barcelona’s innovative collaborations with world-famous artists under the Spotify banner. In previous editions of El Clásico, the Catalan giants have showcased logos from Drake, Rosé of BLACKPINK, and The Rolling Stones, all of which generated huge global buzz. The Ed Sheeran partnership promises to be no different, combining football’s biggest stage with one of the most recognizable names in music.
Speaking about the collaboration, Barcelona said the initiative reflects Spotify’s commitment to “connecting fans through the power of music and sport.” Ed Sheeran, whose songs have billions of streams on Spotify, expressed his excitement at being featured on the Blaugrana jersey, calling it “a surreal and proud moment” for a lifelong football fan.
