Aston Villa is exploring the possibility of signing João Félix, though the financial aspects of the deal make it extremely difficult. The interest comes as Villa looks to bolster their squad after selling Moussa Diaby, with manager Unai Emery appreciating Félix’s abilities.
Despite the challenge, Villa is considering Félix, who joined Atlético Madrid from Benfica in 2019 for €126 million. The Portuguese forward has spent the last two seasons on loan, scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances for Barcelona in the 2023-24 season. He also had a loan stint at Chelsea, who paid €11 million for him in the second half of the 2022-23 season. Félix remains under contract with Atlético until 2027.
Unai Emery is intrigued by Félix’s versatility across the front line, a quality he values in his players. However, Barcelona remains focused on securing Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, who has a €58 million release clause and is a top priority for the Spanish giants after his standout performance at Euro 2024.
