Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered an encouraging update on defender Gabriel Magalhães, who recently picked up an injury while on international duty with Brazil. Speaking ahead of the club’s upcoming fixtures, Arteta revealed that the centre-back is “evolving well” but added that the club is still awaiting further medical clarity before confirming a return date.
Gabriel was forced off during Brazil’s match after appearing to suffer discomfort, raising concerns among Arsenal supporters given his importance to the team’s defensive structure. Arteta confirmed that more detailed assessments are still needed, saying, “We have to wait for that scan a little bit longer to be more precise in terms of the timings.”
Despite the uncertainty regarding the final diagnosis, the Arsenal boss expressed strong confidence in the player’s resilience and recovery mindset. “I’m quite confident, especially with the way Gabi takes every injury and pushes everybody… it won’t be that long,” Arteta added.
