Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that defender Gabriel Magalhães will miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained during their 2-1 victory over Fulham. The 27-year-old Brazilian center-back suffered the injury just 15 minutes into the match and was promptly substituted.
Following medical evaluations, it has been determined that Gabriel requires surgery, which is scheduled to take place in the coming days. Post-surgery, he will commence a rehabilitation program with the aim of returning in time for the start of the next season.
“Gabi will undergo a surgical repair procedure to his hamstring in the coming days, and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season,” posted by Arsenal on their official website.
This injury adds to Arsenal’s defensive challenges, as fellow defenders Jurrien Timber and Ben White are also sidelined due to injuries. These setbacks come at a crucial time, with the team preparing for the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid and the final stretch of the Premier League season.
