Barcelona’s solid centre-back, Andreas Christensen, has been dealt a blow after suffering an injury to his soleus. The Danish defender, who has impressed since joining the Catalan club, will now be sidelined for a few weeks. According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Christensen is expected to miss around three weeks due to the injury.
This unfortunate setback means that Christensen will be unable to contribute to Barcelona’s defensive line for the time being. As a result, the club will rely on Eric Garcia, who was previously expected to leave during the January transfer window. Garcia’s extended stay will provide much-needed depth in the centre-back position during Christensen’s absence.
Barcelona fans will be hoping for a swift recovery for Christensen, who has been a key figure at the back, but in the meantime, Garcia will be called upon to step up.
