
Lovlina Borgohain won a bronze medal in boxing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This year she had her Olympic debut and this was special to her as she became only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympic games.
She has said that she is not going to sit and wait for the 2024 Paris games. She will start preparing for the next Olympics just after her holidays. She also told she wants a better medal in the next Olympics and she will try her level best to win it.
“My first sacrifice was to stay away from my home for the past eight years and not being there for my family in times of their problems and watching from a distance. This is the biggest sacrifice,” she told PTI.
She feels it was very tough for her to stay away from her family for so long. she also told about the other sacrifices, she has done to make her dream of winning a medal in the Olympic games come true.
“Personally, I have sacrificed some desires that youngsters like me would have. For example not eating things that so many others of my age eat (fast food), I wouldn’t take leave from training to concentrate on the game. And this continued for eight years,” as quoted by PTI.
As she was away from her family for very long, she does plan to have a holiday with them before starting preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics. she will start afresh in every aspect of her game for the 2024 Paris edition.
