The New Orleans Pelicans went on Twitter to rub some salt on the wound after the Pelicans blew out the Lakers 123-95 in the Crypto.com arena. The Pelicans delivered a thumping to the Lakers who have been struggling throughout the season. The Pelicans took to Twitter and changed their bio to,’ Beat the Lakers by 28 in LA 🌞 See ya Wednesday at the Smoothie King Center 🎟: https://neworlns.co/PelicansTickets22.’

The bio ended with the link to tickets to the game against the Sacramento Kings at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. To be fair to the Lakers they are the 9 seed while the Pelicans are the 10 seed in the West. But it makes sense to go after a juggernaut like the Lakers that is considered one of the greatest franchises in NBA history alongside the Boston Celtics.
The Lakers had a very pathetic game against the Pelicans. There was no energy and they made 23 turnovers in the game. Even LeBron James who had 32 in the game played with no energy and had 7 turnovers. Like Kendrick Perkins ( former player, NBA champion, and ESPN basketball analyst) said, the body language was extremely bad and it was like they came out to lose.
The Lakers and LeBron were booed by their fans and after the game, there was footage released of the players going back and forth with some of the fans. It was a really sad sight to see because the Lakers had won a championship just 2 seasons back. But it comes with the territory. While LA is a great place to be, you have to deliver consistently. Otherwise, the city might very well turn on you.
The situation is funny though. Because the only hope Lakers fans have that the team will get better is if the players take the statement personally and come back motivated to win. But right now, it looks really bad for the Lakers and they better win a few games if they even want to have a chance to be in the Playoffs this season.
