Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest power forwards the league has ever seen. The Hall of Famer has a well-decorated resume. While Garnett spent most of his career in Minnesota, playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, he is a champion for the Boston Celtics. Tomorrow the Celtics will honour their champion by retiring his jersey at Boston, in TD Garden.

Kevin Garett, in his illustrious 20-year career, has been a 15-time All-Star, 4-time Rebounding champ, 9 time All-NBA Team, 1995-1996 Rookie of the Year, 12-time All-Defensive team, 2002-2003 All-Star MVP, 2003-2004 MVP, 2007-2008 Defensive Player of the year and 2008 champion. He was also voted as a Top-75 player of all time as a part of the 75th anniversary of the NBA.

It is only right that Kevin Garnett has his jersey retired by the Celtics. As a part of the first super-team created in the modern era of basketball, he was responsible for bringing the Boston Celtics their first championship since 1986. Kevin Garnett opened up today about how he felt about the ceremony that will be held at the Garden tomorrow when the Boston Celtics play against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Big Ticket opened up how he felt about the ceremony to Kyle Hightower of boston.com. “I’m just trying to soak it up, being honest, I’m trying to be very humble. I don’t know. I’m just it’s all a shock to me, you know what I mean? When kids come up to me and they express their appreciation for different things. I don’t really know what to say other than, ‘Thank you,’” Garnett told Hightower, “I just stayed true to what I was and who I was. It was the easiest thing to do. I didn’t want to be something I wasn’t.”

While Kevin Garnett was a champion with the Celtics, he is hailed as the greatest Timberwolves player of all time. It is disrespectful of the Timberwolves not to hang up Garnett’s jersey in their rafters. The Timberwolves should take a page from the Celtics’ book and respect what Garnett did for them for more than a decade.
