Aditi Ashok shot a steady 1-under 71 and opened the women’s British Open. Aditi Ashok, an Indian Professional golfer is from the Karnataka state who performed very well in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is playing the women’s British Open in Carnoustie which is scheduled to play between August 19 – August 22, 2021.

Aditi finished fourth in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and thus, she didn’t get the medal as she was just missed out on bronze. But, this was her best performance in the Olympics. She made her Olympic Games debut at the 2016 summer Olympics. Her debut Olympics season didn’t go well as she finished 41st. But, this year she finishes 4th while representing India in the Tokyo Olympics in golf. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised her for her commendable performance via tweet.

But, the 23-year old has forgotten what happened in the past and now is looking forward to bring a medal for India in the next Olympics. For which, she has already started working. While playing in the women’s British Open 2021, she scored four birdies against three bogeys and been placed tied 22nd at the challenging Carnoustie. She started with a very good birdie on the first. Her performance is getting better and better.

“I played good today, I think I drove the ball well and that was a key to scoring well. I started well with well die on the first as I hit a 7 iron to 10 feet and holed the putt,” Aditi said as quoted by AP.
