Team USA has made a strong start ahead of the official gymnastics competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympics. During the podium training on Thursday, Simone Biles showcased some of her most impressive moves, with flawless performances from Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera.
This solid beginning is a relief given the tense atmosphere surrounding Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where Biles withdrew from the competition during the team final due to mental health concerns. This year, Biles has been assured that she won’t have to compete in all four events in the team final if she doesn’t feel up to it. As of now, the final lineup of gymnasts hasn’t been definitively set.
