Alex Albon survived a dramatic moment during a wet and wild Q1 session at the Las Vegas Grand Prix after colliding with the wall — yet somehow managing to drive his heavily damaged Williams all the way back to the pits.

The incident happened during the final minutes of Q1, with drivers struggling for grip on a soaked circuit filled with standing water. Albon, pushing to escape the elimination zone, slid wide and made contact with the wall. Sparks flew, debris scattered — and for a moment it looked certain he’d be out on the spot.

But in a remarkable display of car control and quick thinking, Albon kept the battered FW46 running and guided it back to the garage at low speed, astonishing fans and commentators alike.

Formula 1’s official account posted the clip immediately after, captioning:
“Alex Albon collides with the wall in Q1! 💥‼️ Just how did he get his car back to the pits?”

Williams mechanics rushed to inspect the car once it rolled into the pit lane, as the session ended with Albon knocked out in Q1.
