Max Verstappen claims 1st place at French Grand Prix

Redbull’s Max Verstappen takes his seventh win of this season. Pain for Ferrari as their main man Charles Leclerc crashed out of the race.

Max Verstappen gets his seventh win of the 2022 campaign. The second place was claimed by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. George Russell finishes third and makes it a double podium finish for Mercedes. The pole sitter for the race Charles Leclerc toppled out of the lead on the 18th lap of the race. His teammate Carlos Sainz, who had started at the back of the grid came at 5th place eventually making him the driver of the day.

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez took 4th place after losing out on the last step of the podium to Mercedes driver George Russell. Russell made a fantastic move on Perez and hence he took the final step at the podium.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc fell from the lead of the race on lap 18 after crashing his Ferrari because of oversteer. Yet another disaster for Ferrari as well as its drivers on their course to winning both the championships.

Fernando Alonso came 6th in front of both Mclaren’s Lando Norris. Racing in his home Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon finished 8th for Alpine. Daniel Ricciardo took 9th place and Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll takes the final one point and finishes 10th after having a hardcore last lap battle with fellow Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel he came 11th.

Four drivers did not finish the race. Nicholas Latifi, Kevin Magnussen, Charles Leclerc, and Yuki Tsunoda were the drivers who failed to finish the race.

This race weekend has been pretty good for Mercedes as they got a double finish in the French Grand Prix. Heartbreak for Ferrari as yet another failure in strategy costs them crucial points.
