Lewis Hamilton wins hard chaotic-rain Russian GP as he scripts history with 100 wins

The British legend driver creates history by being the only Formula 1 driver to take 100 victories as he wins a fun-chaotic Russian GP after Lando Norris makes a big mistake which cost him the only seventh position. Max Verstappen finished second followed by Carlos Sainz in third.

On Sunday, the British legend driver and seven times Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton creates history by being the first driver to have 100 victories in this sport. He won his 100th Grand Prix in Russia GP which started in dry and good conditions but ended in a pool of chaotic results as it started raining within the last six laps. The Mercedes driver made a late switch to the intermediate tyres but the race leader Lando Norris didn’t make the change thinking that his tyres would survive. This proved to be costly for him as he was torn in tears after only finishing seventh and took the fastest lap. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen finished second after starting from the back of the grid and Carlos Sainz took home third position for Ferrari.

Mercedes Formula 1 Team congratulated Lewis Hamilton for this remarkable achievement with excitement as they mentioned “ THIS IS WHAT 100 FEELS LIKE”

Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team also captured a sweet moment between Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton as he congratulated him for all the efforts put by the Mclaren driver by mentioning “Class”

At the initial start of the weekend, rains and grid penalties were the talk of the town as Championship leader Max Verstappen started from 20th due to engine change meanwhile Valtteri Bottas started from 16th due to a turbo engine. The race started with Carlos Sainz passing Lando Norris only with Lewis Hamilton pushed to seventh place in the opening laps of the race. Daniel Riccardo kept Hamilton for 26 laps before entering the pit stops. On lap 27 Hamilton changed into his hard tyres, as his tyres become much better and the pace was amazing. On Lap 38, Norris was ahead of Hamilton as he took the lead of the race making it difficult for the leader to catch up.

The top two went on together, but then soon the rain hit with 6 laps to go as Hamilton and Norris struggled to keep their tyres. Mercedes pulled a late decision with Hamilton making into the pits while race leader Lando Norris choose to not go inside. With just three laps to go, it was Norris who still stayed on track as he later felt the rain, leading for him a lot of grip as he totally went of the track making Hamilton pass Norris in the dying stages to give him his 100th victory.

Lewis Hamilton won the race, as Max Verstappen came home second and Carlos Sainz took third place. Lando Norris, unfortunately, finished 7th after his decision cost his team a huge blunder.
