FIA backed Formula Regional Indian Championship and Formula 4 Indian Championship are ready to make their debut in India. The championships are scheduled to commence in February 2022 which will be hosted by 4 cities – New Delhi, Coimbatore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The events shall be hosted by Racing Promotions (RPPL).

Both the F4 Indian Championships and Formula Regional Indian Championships are now officially certified by the FIA. The drivers will be driving in an F3 based chassis.

A huge step forward for India in the motorsport world as the winners of the championships will be given FIA Super License points bringing the Indian racing talent closer to the biggest stages in single-seater motorsport competitions such as Formula 1.

The Indian Racing league is to be acted as a support race to the F4 and Formula Regional as a feeder series for promoting talent in both the FIA licenced championships. An amount of 100 crore investment has been made into the cars and setting up the infrastructure of the street circuit so far. This will be the first-ever FIA Graded Street Circuit in India.

Former Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan along with other Indian racers  Armaan Ebrahim, Aditya Patel and former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev has come on board as the advisors for the business.

RPPL are committed to the long-term development of motorsport in India and guide the talent from the grassroots level in the country.

India has seen a variety of race drivers in some of the top fields of motorsport championships like Jehan Daruvala in F2, Mira Erda who became the first Indian woman to race in the Euro JK series in 2017 and later finished first among all the ladies in round 2 of the FIA Formula 4 SEA Championship in 2019 and Sneha Sharma who has competed at the F4 National Racing Championship while being a professional pilot for IndiGo Airlines.
