Last-over twist: Miller and Stubbs close it out
It went to the final over again, and RCB thought they might have had it but David Miller turned it in the 19th over at the Chinnaswamy, hammering Romario Shepherd. DC needed 15 off the over, at 19.3 he hit a six over mid-wicket. At 19.4 another six over extra cover. At 19.5 a low full toss was flicked for four. Three boundary balls in four deliveries sealed it for DC. RCB were left stunned at the death in Bangalore as Miller finished it.
Tristan Stubbs stayed till the end with him, holding the innings together and not letting the pressure break them. The chase ended with DC winning by six wickets in 19.5 overs. Miller made up for not getting two off two earlier in the tournament against Gujarat Titans from a similar position.
DC innings: Rahul sets it, Stubbs anchors it
Delhi’s chase was built in layers. KL Rahul gave them the base with a fluent 57 off 34, striking early to keep the rate in check. After his dismissal, Stubbs took over and played the long hand, finishing unbeaten on 59 off 46.
Axar Patel added useful runs in the middle, there was a sense they were always one partnership away from control, and Stubbs provided that stability right through the chaos.
RCB innings: Salt’s start, late collapse hurts again
RCB posted 175/8 after what looked like a strong platform at one stage. Phil Salt’s 63 set the tone, and Virat Kohli also looked sharp early on. But once Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel broke through in the middle overs, things slowed down sharply.
The final five overs told the story again, RCB lost wickets at the wrong time and failed to finish strong, managing just 29 runs in the last five overs. That late slowdown proved costly as DC chased it down with two balls left.
David Miller kept his nerve to finish it for DC, making amends for his earlier mistake against GT when he failed to get two off two.
