Max Verstappen has rejected Lewis Hamilton’s suggestion of introducing a specific date for F1 teams to begin work on their next year’s car to prevent one team from gaining a significant advantage.

Currently, Red Bull remains undefeated in the 2023 season, winning all eight grands prix and one Sprint race. Verstappen leads the Drivers’ Championship with a 69-point margin over teammate Sergio Perez, while Mercedes’ Fernando Alonso trails further behind.

Hamilton, currently 93 points behind Verstappen, believes Mercedes can catch up on track by the end of the season, attributing Red Bull’s advantage to their ability to shift focus to their 2024 car.

He proposes a rule that restricts early car development, suggesting a unified starting date for all teams. Hamilton aims to prevent prolonged dominance by a single team and promote fair competition in the sport.
