Carlos Sainz renews his contract with Scuderia Ferrari

The new agreement is for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Carlos Sainz has signed a contract extension with Scuderia Ferrari. The renewed contract has been extended for another two seasons, which will see the Spanish driver competing under Team Ferrari until the end of the 2024 Formula One World Championship. He will have ten Formula One season under his belt by then.

In the year 2021, Carlos joined Ferrari from rivals Mclaren. He has six podiums with the team so far (two of them this season) and a fifth-place finish in the Drivers’ Championship. This new contract demonstrates the faith that the most successful team in history has in him to return to the top of the World Championship, a goal that he is currently pursuing behind the wheel of an F1-75 that has started the 2022 season as one of the field’s leading vehicles.

According to the announcement on his official website, Sainz stated that he is happy to renew his contract with Scuderia Ferrari and reiterated that he believes that there is no better team than his current team. He also stated that he feels confident and motivated to help  Ferrari get back to the winning ways and to fight for both Championships.

Sainz made his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso in the 2015 season at the age of 20. He then joined Renault in the 2017 season before subsequently joining McLaren in 2019. Ferrari confirmed him as their racing driver for the 2020 season in the spring of 2020.
