French winger Ousmane Dembélé has confirmed that he is fit and ready to play in the UEFA Champions League final later this month after fears over his recent injury scare.
The Paris Saint-Germain star suffered a minor concern during PSG’s clash against Paris FC, which raised doubts over his availability for the biggest match of the season. However, Dembele has now eased those concerns with a positive update ahead of the final against Arsenal F.C. on May 30.
Speaking about his condition, Dembele said: “I’m doing very well. I had little scare against Paris FC but I’m doing ok. I’ll be fine for the Champions League Final.”
The 28-year-old also made it clear that he is hoping to start in the final if selected by PSG manager Luis Enrique.
“I hope to play… of course, if the coach picks me,” he added.
Dembele’s fitness comes as a massive boost for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their showdown against Arsenal. The French international has been one of PSG’s most dangerous attacking players this season with his pace, movement and creativity playing a key role in the club’s European campaign.
PSG will be aiming to win the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history, while Arsenal are looking to lift Europe’s biggest prize after an impressive campaign under Mikel Arteta.
The final is expected to be one of the biggest matches of the European football season, with both sides entering the game in strong form.
