Lancashire wicketkeeper-batsman Brooke Guest joins Derbyshire on a two-year deal. The 23-year-old shall initially join the club on loan for the remainder of the season. Later might move onto a permanent contract ahead of the 2021 campaign.
Ben McDermott, the Australia wicketkeeper-batsman, had been due to play for the county this season, but that deal was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Head coach of DCCB Dave Houghton said: “He’s a player who has quality with the gloves and the bat.” With the Australian cricketer’s arrival pushed back to next year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooke Guest joins as additional cover for Harvey an English professional cricketer who plays for DCCB.
