Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has had an eventful few weeks in preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL). One of the youngest performers for the team Rajasthan Royals, he also got selected for the Mumbai Team playing in Oman and not only that, he helped Mumbai beat Oman in a One-Day series. He also had the chance to have a one-on-one talk with his idol, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
He spoke to the media before joining his team in the UAE before the IPL as he will have to quarantine in a hotel room when he arrives in Dubai.
Yashasvi expressed joy after talking to his idol Tendulkar and picked the brain of one of the greatest batsmen ever. Yashasvi said that his idol was always Sachin Tendulkar and hence, he was fortunate to meet and talk to him before the tour of Oman and was glad that the Mumbai Cricket Association was able to organise a session where he was invited before the Mumbai Team left for Oman.
He continued saying that he was over the moon hearing that and when he was talking to him, it felt good for him to know that Sachin knew his game and was humble to teach him skills which he can improve on. Yashasvi said that he can’t wait to implement them on the field.
Yashasvi said about the Oman Tour that it was good that he had some practice before the IPL. He said due to the similar conditions in the UAE, it was good practice for him to play against Oman and prepare for the stronger line-ups in the IPL.
He scored a total of 300 runs in the tour which includes best scores of 90, 82 and 75.
