UP Warriorz buys Sophie Ecclestone for INR 1.8 Crore

Ecclestone, the top-ranked T20I bowler, is a seasoned competitor with an economy of 5.90. In the Women’s T20 Challenge last year, the slow left-arm orthodox spinner finished with four wickets in three games and can bowl at full tilt on the spin-friendly Indian pitches. Ecclestone, a capable ball striker who finished as Sydney Sixers’ runner-up in the Big Bash League, can help out in the middle order.

The BCCI previously disclosed that it had received 1525 registrations, of which 246 Indians and 163 foreign players had been selected. There are 24 players with the highest base price of 50 lakh, including 10 Indian and 14 international cricketers.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, and Deandra Dottin are on the list of people with the highest base prices. The winning Indian U-19 T20 World Cup team members have also registered for the auction. A total of 12 crore will be allocated to the five franchises.
