UP Warriorz Women (UP-W) may have been out of the playoff race, but they ended their WPL 2025 campaign on a high, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) by 12 runs in a must-win clash for the Smriti Mandhana-led side. Georgia Voll’s record-breaking 99 (56)* powered UP-W to a historic 225/4, the highest team total in WPL history. In response, RCB-W put up a strong fight but fell short, officially crashing out of the tournament.

Voll’s heroics and UP-W’s record total

Opting to bat first, UP-W got off to a flying start, with Georgia Voll leading the charge with a sensational knock. Her 99 off 56 balls, featuring 17 fours and a six, broke the record for the highest individual score in WPL history. Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris provided quick-fire cameos, ensuring UP-W posted an imposing 225/4.

With the ball, UP-W held their nerve in the final overs. Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma delivered crucial breakthroughs taking 3 wickets each. Sneh Rana at the end tried to chase the total but  RCB-W fell short by 12 runs, despite a valiant effort from their batters.

For RCB-W, this was a do-or-die game, but their failure to chase down the target eliminated them from the tournament. With their exit, the three teams advancing to the playoffs are Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W), Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W), and Gujarat Giants Women (GG).
