India continued their stellar performance in the Cricket World Cup 2023, securing their seventh consecutive win with an impressive 302-run triumph over Sri Lanka. Batting first, India set a formidable target of 358 runs, driven by excellent batting performances from Virat Kohli (88 off 94 balls), Shubman Gill (92 off 92), and Shreyas Iyer (82 off 56 balls). In response, Sri Lanka faltered, collapsing to a mere 55 runs, courtesy of an outstanding bowling display by Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami. Siraj claimed 3 wickets, Shami secured his second five-wicket haul of the tournament, and Bumrah contributed with a crucial scalp.

India’s dominant victory not only solidified their position at the top of the points table but also secured their spot in the semifinals, making them the first team to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. With 14 points from 7 matches and a remarkable net run rate of +2.102, India’s performance has been exceptional throughout the tournament.
