The Upstox Most Valuable Team of the Tournament was named following Australia’s victory over South Africa in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday at Newlands.
Unsurprisingly, four Australians made the XI, while their final opponents, South Africa, had three of their own. The final team included players from England, India, and the West Indies, as well as a future Ireland star.
Richa Ghosh, a wicket-keeper batter from India, was the only player from the subcontinent named to the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 tournament team. Ghosh, who scored 136 runs at a fantastic average of 68, was chosen as a lower-order batter, while Australian opener Alyssa Healy was retained as the wicket-keeper.
