West Indies looked solid and ahead in the chase when Deandra Dottin punched with 46 balls 62 runs alongside Hayley Mathews’ steady 43 runs until Indian bowlers opted for tactical changes that resulted in a fall of wickets in quick succession. Dottin smashed Jhulan Goswami for five 4s in an over and had nearly turned the game in West Indies’ favor until she was caught by Meghna Singh at Sneh Rana’s delivery. Hayley Mathews too lost her wicket to Sneh Rana for 43 runs. Hereafter, the team didn’t look back from tasting the whiff of victory out of rock-strong runs scored by Indies’ openers. Jhulan Goswami did have an off-day after being tossed for 35 runs but Meghna Singh, and Sneh Rana’s heroic bowling helped the team save the day. West Indies’ in reply managed to score only 162 runs.

Yastika Bhatia, too, had a decent partnership with Mandhana, as the former chipped in with 31 runs while opening the order. Mithali Raj couldn’t score big as the captain lost her wicket to Shamilia Connel. Jhulan Goswamy had an expensive spell of 6 overs as the leading bowler bagged just one wicket while giving away 43 runs.
