Cricket Andre Coley has been named interim coach of the West Indies senior men’s team for the team’s tours to Zimbabwe and South Africa early next year.
Coley replaces Phil Simmons, who announced his decision to step down following the Australia series following the West Indies’ early exit from the T20 World Cup.
Coley was the West Indies’ assistant coach when they won the T20 World Cup in 2016, incidentally under Simmons. He was most recently the head coach of the CWI Academy programme, and he has also coached the Under-19 and senior women’s teams. He was a member of the Jamaica Tallawahs support staff that won the Caribbean Premier League title this year.
