
Former Indian Cricket team captain MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday sending cricket fans across the nation in a frenzy. Virat Kohli, the current captain paid his tribute to Dhoni via tweet, saying that the respect and warmth he received from Dhoni will always remain in his heart.

Kohli started his international career under Dhoni’s captaincy and became the vice-captain and later the captain under his guidance. The two have shared excellent partnership and gained many wins for the country and always defended each other. Kohli in his tweet said that the world has seen Dhoni’s achievements but he has seen the person and that is why it is emotional to see Dhoni announce his retirement decision. He also added that what Dhoni has achieved for the country will remain in everyone’s heart. Speculations about Dhoni’s retirement has been around since India’s exit in 2019 World Cup semi-final.
Kohli expressed his gratitude and bid adieu to Dhoni by saying, “Thanks for everything skip, I tip my hat to you.” MS Dhoni has played 538 international games for India, scoring 17,266 runs from them and won the 2011 World Cup.
