Axar Patel to Tim David, SIX — and that might be one of the biggest hits of the series. Tossed up outside off, David stepped into it and sent it sailing over long-off, crashing onto the top of the Ninja Stadium roof. With a little more elevation, it would have cleared the ground entirely. The ball thudded off the roof and dropped back in — a near-out-of-the-stadium strike. David himself looked stunned, almost admiring his own power.
Axar is under pressure here — bowling into the breeze, to the shorter boundary, against a man built for moments like this.
STAT ALERT
43/2 — Australia’s joint-lowest Powerplay score in T20Is in this World Cup cycle (since July 2024), matching their 43/2 vs Pakistan at this same venue last November. India kept things tight early, but David is flipping the momentum single-handedly.
Australia 67/2 after 7.4 overs — Tim David 48*(22), and striking at over 215.
